A big shock in the BAL: Rivers Hoopers have announced they have signed 2015 NBA champion Festus Ezeli. The Nigerian-American center will play in the 2021 BAL season with the Nigerian champions.
For Ezeli, it will be the first time he will play professionally in his native country. He was born in Benin City and played in the NBA for three seasons. In 2015, he won the championship when he was on the Golden State Warriors where he played together with Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. The 2.11 meter tall center will bring a lot of talent and experience to the team of Ogoh Odaudu.
Earlier this week, the Hoopers had already announced the signings of Nigerian guard Ben Uzoh. They also filled up their two non-African spots with the signings of Chris Daniels & Taren Sullivan. The club looks in impressive shape one month away from the tip-off of the first BAL season.
