
South Sudan’s representative in the BAL, Cobra Sport, have made major moves ahead of the start of the season. The team has signed national team forward Nyang Wek and guard Padiet Wang. Additionally, Manny Berberi has signed as the team’s head coach in their maiden season.

Nyang Wek is a 25-year old forward who played high school and college basketball in the United States. Four years ago, he played with the Dallas Ballers in LaVar Ball’s JBA. Last summer he played at AfroBasket 2021 and averaged 5 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.
Padiet Wang is a 24-year old guard born in Colorado, United States, who most recently played for Academica Efapel Coimbra in the Portuguese LPB league. Before that, he played two seasons with the University of Colorado Springs.
Manyang G. Berberi, aka Manny Berberi, was revealed as the team’s new head coach. He was born in Sudan but moved to Melbourne, Australia when he was 10 before later playing with the Louisville Cardinals in the NCAA. He also founded the Longhorns Basketball Club in Melbourne.
