Par The BAL Report4 min de lecture
Six BAL seasons have produced 60 playoff games and six Finals. That is a small enough sample that one player can rewrite it in a single spring, and in 2026 one player did.
The BAL's playoff record book now has its own pages on The BAL Report. Read them together and two stories run through every list: Craig Randall II's 2026 run, and Petro de Luanda's six years of playoff basketball.
Craig Randall II and the spring of 2026
Start with the numbers, because they barely look real. In the 2026 playoffs, Craig Randall II of RSSB Tigers scored 38, 43, 30 and 33 points. That is 144 points in four games, 36.0 a game.
The 43 came in the second quarterfinal against FUS Rabat. It is the most points ever scored in a BAL playoff game, and his 38 in the first game against FUS is second. RSSB lost that second game 99-98 despite his 43. He then put up 30 in the semifinal against Al Ahly and 33 in the Final against Petro de Luanda, which RSSB won 90-88 for the club's first BAL title.
Those 33 are the most points anyone has scored in a BAL Final. The previous best, 28, is shared by two Petro players: Lukeny Gonçalves in 2022 and Aboubakar Gakou in that same 2026 Final, scoring on the other side of Randall.
The regular season was no different. Randall scored 54 against Dar City in April, the BAL single-game record. His 289 points in eight games are the most anyone has scored in a BAL season, 78 more than the next-best season on record (Jo Lual-Acuil's 211 for Al Ahly Ly in 2024).

Petro de Luanda: the club that is always there
Randall owns the scoring records. The career records belong to Luanda.
Petro reached the BAL playoffs in all six seasons, and four of the five players with the most BAL playoff games are Angolan. Childe Dundão has played 21 playoff games, more than anyone, all of them for Petro, in every season from 2021 to 2026. Gakou has played 18, and Gerson Domingos and Gonçalves 17 each.
The one non-Angolan in that group is the exception that explains the rule. Solo Diabate has played 19 playoff games across six seasons for five different clubs: Zamalek, Petro, Monastir, ASC Ville de Dakar and Al Ahly Ly. Dundão and Diabate are also tied for the most playoff assists, 85 each.
Petro have been to four of the last five Finals. The club won one of them, beating Al Ahly Ly 107-94 in 2024. It lost the other three: to Monastir in 2022, to Al Ahli Tripoli in 2025, and to RSSB by two points in 2026. No club has played more BAL Finals.
The scorers and the rebounders
The all-time playoff scoring leader is Majok Deng, with 219 points in 12 games for Al Ahly Ly and Al Ittihad Alexandria. Gonçalves (198) and Dundão (197) follow, both with many more games played. Nuni Omot has the best rate among the leaders, 175 points in nine games, 19.4 a game.
Under the basket, Aliou Diarra has 105 playoff rebounds, the most in BAL history, in only nine games. That is 11.7 a game. Ater Majok is second with 92, in 13. Diarra is also tied for the most All-BAL Team selections, three, so the BAL's best playoff rebounder is one of its most decorated players as well.
The single-game playoff rebounding record is 25, by Nkosinathi Sibanyoni of Cape Town Tigers against FUS Rabat in 2024. Nobody else has reached even 21. The assists record is newer: Charles Moore of Al Ahly Ly had 13 against Club Africain in the 2026 playoffs and 12 against Al Ahly six days later, the two highest totals in BAL playoff history.
The best season of all
One team record stands above the rest. Zamalek went 6-0 in the first BAL season in 2021, allowed 61.3 points a game and won the Final 76-63 over Monastir. It is still the only perfect season in the league's history and still its best defence. The closest anyone has come to the record since is Al Ahli Tripoli's 9-1 on the way to the 2025 title.
